Grant Kirkhope

Grant is a BAFTA and IFMCA nominated British composer who has created the soundtrack for video games that have sold in excess of 30 million copies. From “GoldenEye” to “Banjo- Kazooie”, “Viva Piñata” to “Donkey Kong”, “Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse” to “Perfect Dark” and “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning” to “Civilization: Beyond Earth”.

Grant began his career at Rare in 1995 composing for some of their most loved titles. From there he went on to work at Big Huge Games, Baltimore in 2008. Then he moved to California in 2012 where he now lives and works as a contracting composer. Grant was nominated in the 2014 ASCAP Composer’s Choice Awards for his work on “Civilization: Beyond Earth” and also won the Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media 2014 from the International Film Music Critics Association for the same score. “Civilization: Beyond Earth” also won Best Score: Video Game at the Cue Awards 2014.

Grant is currently working on “Yooka Laylee” among other things that he can’t talk about yet!!
