TOKYO MACHINE is the result of a personality influenced by Japanese culture and video games colliding head-on with energetic, bombastic EDM beats. TOKYO MACHINE has quickly grown to become one of the most recognizable personas in dance music, DJing on some of the scene’s most coveted stages and garnering millions upon millions of streams.
TOKYO MACHINE mysteriously emerged onto the scene in July of 2016 with the chiptune-infused bass house slapper “PARTY,” which gained the attention of Monstercat fanatics and blogs alike. The producer quickly followed up on the success of “PARTY” with equally wild singles throughout the remainder of the year, including the viral breakbeat slammer “FIGHT.”
2017 would prove to be an even bigger year for TOKYO MACHINE, taking his video game influences to a whole new level when he was commissioned to produce a new theme for Rocket League. “ROCK IT” spearheaded Monstercat’s collaborative album with the video game and went on to become one of TOKYO MACHINE’s most widely beloved works. Less than a month after the song’s release, TOKYO MACHINE made his full-scale live debut at EDC.
In 2018, TOKYO MACHINE embarked on his first North American live tour, which served as the general public’s opportunity to see that TOKYO MACHINE wasn’t just a cutesy cartoon musician, but also a lively DJ who could throw down a ridiculously heavy set. The DJ’s distinct stage wear has also allowed him to gain significant traction within the cosplay community.
2018 also saw TOKYO MACHINE make his debut at the world’s largest EDM festival, Tomorrowland. He also played a homecoming show in Tokyo and embarked on a mini-tour in China that same year, in addition to producing another song for Rocket League and having “HYPE” featured in Just Shapes & Beats.
From there, TOKYO MACHINE has not ceased growing and moving forward, as the producer has continued to consistently release fun, thematic tunes throughout recent months (such as the Beat Saber-featured “EPIC” and “MOSHI” with Pegboard Nerds).
The future looks bright for TOKYO MACHINE as he prepares for a return to ADE, a second North American tour with Monstercat and a highly-anticipated collaboration with Slushii. Get ready to join TOKYO MACHINE, ROBO-CHAN and the rest of the TOKI-CREW on a flight to the stars, because this rocket isn’t slowing down any time soon.
